Private equity is making inroads into physician practices. In 2019, its highest penetration was in dermatology at 7.5% and 1.9% (460 of 23,891) in orthopedics. Foot and ankle medical practices have been identified as being part of a healthcare sector that is fragmented and can benefit from capital and logistic support.
Podiatric Deals Stonehenge Partners has partnered with Weil Foot and Ankle Institute to fuel expansion to 29 practice locations over four states. NMS Capital has harnessed the US Foot and Ankle Specialist tax ID to grow to more than 100 practice locations over nine states.
